European Comfort Shoes

European comfort footwear shares many of the same comfort features as traditional orthopedic shoes, therefore this type of footwear can also help alleviate foot, ankle, knee, hip, or back problems. Such footwear has anatomically contoured footbeds which are designed to displace the wearer's weight more evenly over the entire foot. Generally, European comfort footwear has a more pronounced longitudinal arch support than their American counterpart. This extra arch support helps people ease problems that arise from excessive standing or weight bearing, (i.e. aching back, tired legs, foot fatigue, heel pain, etc). We have found these shoes extremely popular with pregnant women who obviously are carrying more weight than that too which they are accustomed. In fact, Fred's daughter, Jane, found the "Dansko" brand comfort clog to be extremely beneficial while she was pregnant with twins (see photo). We've even had physicians prescribe European comfort footwear for people with problems associated with weak or "fallen" longitudinal arches, such as plantar fasciitis or heel spur syndrome.
